ABOUT ME

My business idea started when my eldest daughter got married in June 2022.  Whilst on holiday in York, I tried on some outfits in a beautiful mother of the bride shop. However, at a price of £550 reduced from £900, then a hat being popped on my head at a further £325, I decided it wasn’t for me.

So I  started searching high street brands where I could only find a couple of outfits here or there. I really wanted to go somewhere with lots of choice, where I could try lots of things on and choose what I liked best. So the shop in York was perfect except for the price tag.

I resorted to ordering online and was lucky to find an outfit I loved which fitted well, but then I had to start all over again with the hat! In my searches I realised that many ladies had purchased beautiful expensive outfits for their son or daughters wedding, couldn’t wear them again, so were selling them on. And so was born my business.

Over the last year I have gathered together around 400 outfits, plus hats, shoes and handbags, to recreate that shop in York at a fraction of the price. I have both new and preloved outfits, which are cleaned, steamed and quality checked twice so they are in pristine condition. I have a studio attached to the side of my house in Wivenhoe so you can come along with a relative or friend and try on as many outfits, hats and shoes as you like, until you find the outfit that makes you feel truly special.

Shopping is by appointment only so all customers can have my full attention, I can make you a nice cuppa whilst you’re browsing, then help you find the perfect outfit. As it’s just me, I know my stock very well.

So for all special occasions – weddings, either as mother of the bride or groom or as a guest, race meetings, garden parties, balls and galas, or any event where you want to look your best, my aim is to provide a fun, enjoyable shopping experience in an environment where you can feel comfortable and welcome and hopefully will leave with the perfect outfit and a big smile on your face.
